UNIX Extends Lead Over NT
The conventional wisdom says NT is beating UNIX, however:
“NT has fallen behind Unix because it lacks the performance and scalability needed for heavy data-center work, as well as its ever-increasing price tag, Brown said. Windows NT Server Enterprise Edition, the high-end version of NT, costs $3,999 or more, making the OS almost as expensive as the hardware.”
