Feingold’s Reelection to Senate a Victory for Campaign Finance Reform
Feingold limited himself to spending $1/registered voter on the campaign. His opponent, Mark Newman, honored the limit, however, rightist groups paid for “issue-oriented” attack ads over and above the limit. Leftist groups responded with their ads but Feingold waved them off.
