Generic Programming and the Standard Template Library

Plug: My friend Matt finished his book!

I’m not a C++ person, but my understanding of the standard template library is to abstract away things like arrays so you don’t work with the primative types directly — and more like the way you would deal with arrays in scripting languages like Perl. You’re less likely to get into trouble with memory and pointers this way.
