Predictions of 1999 … in 1954

At a New Year’s Eve party, a friend brought a book of technological optimism written in the 50′s for everyone to get a chuckle from. The mix of hits and misses is amusing. One chapter starts with a scene describing a businessman placing a direct dialed call to Moscow where, “business is good. However his secretary (whoops, you mean admin) is wearing a disposable paper blouse (which never caught on.)
