This is a Rand Corporation study (in PDF format) discussing the Zapatista rebellion in terms of “Social Network Warfare.” Rand thinks this is a new type of conflict in which combatants attempt to build coalitions using super-govermental entities such as the Internet, media outlets, and Non-Governmental Organizations.
