[ via Boing Boing ] It would be hard to determine who is the slimiest character in the Wen Ho Lee affair: the GOP for playing the “Manchu Threat” game to drum up spending on weapons; the Clinton administration, Energy Secretary Bill Richardson in particular, for not calling out the GOP on their hysterics, and promoting Dr. Lee as a scapegoat; or the FBI for using police state tactics to extract what they knew to be a false confession.
I’m weary of the erosion of rights that comes with our weapons business.
