Philg on Managing Engineers

[ via Hack the Planet ] Phil Greenspun’s contrarian views apply to management. Instead of the XP 40 hour week, he suggests that you provide engineers with cooler and nicer things they have at home so they work more. I do like his idea of the skiing/coding retreats.
