A CBC reporter was nearly gloating this morning on a KPFA-FM interview about how smooth today’s election (after a mercifully short 35-day campaign) will go Up North. They have uniform ballots, uniform poll closing times, and must have tommy guns pointed at the exit pollsters. The Liberals look like they’ll keep their majority in Parliament, so Stockwell “Doris” Day will have to keep the Maple Leaf jogging suit in mothballs another few years.
