Thompson will disapoint Conservatives
Back in the early 90′s when I was a graduate student at Wisconsin, an unusual transformation was taking place. GOP Governor Tommy Thompson was listening to the faculty at the UW, and helped to change welfare reform in Wisconsin from a Conservative wet dream of retribution into a plan to help the poor and working poor. That may not sit well with the Conservatives who were happy to see him as the secretary of Health and Human Services.
