Military Intel thinks they found the Mars Polar Lander

[via SpaceToday.net] Space.com reports a group of US military photo recon specialists, examining images from the Mars Global Surveyor, may have found evidence of the ill-fated Mars Polar Lander sitting intact, on all three legs, on the Martian surface. The contractors for the Polar Lander, whose twin has been mothballed, are excited by the news since this would be a vindication of the design, which was blamed for the craft’s failure to radio home after it started a descent to the South Polar highlands in December of 1999.
