Doug Tidwell demonstrated SOAP by writing a Magic 8-Ball service in Java. Given that Java’s random number generator doesn’t have the visceral appeal of a real Magic 8-Ball, he suggested to the assembled class a real Magic 8-Ball, with its own web cam, a Lego Mindstorms shaking apparatus, and dedicated Linux server. Now, I want to see that implemented as a web service.
