Macintouch reported a new version of iViking.org’s FX tool for connecting to FileMaker 5.x databases through PHP. The new version supports caching queries with MySQL.
FX is an open source answer to tools like Lasso which front ends a FileMaker instance and allows you to do a better job of isolating it from the application. Given the FileMaker security isses discussed on MacInTouch the past couple days, it’s a good idea.
