Blogger Bias and Google Results

Shelley, over at the Bird That Burns, has been wondering about the disproportionate power of weblog links on Google results.

While I agree with her that there’s been a massive rightwards shift in weblogs since the technology’s become accessible, the onus is on the data user to detect bias in the data they’re using. In the Salon article she links, the author had some interesting ideas on how to use this massive link database we’re building.

Meanwhile, as far as I’m concerned, most anything that messes with Scientology is a good thing.
