Bold as Love Wins 2002 Clarke Award

[ via Paul Kincaid ] Gwyneth Jones’ Bold as Love won the Arthur C. Clarke Award for the best SF novel published in the UK during 2001. This is a great book, and in light of 9/11 (it was published barely two weeks before the attacks) and questions about the role of Islam in the West (a millitant Islamic group, and a wave of a half-million Musilm refugees fleeing Europe figure in the story), it’s relevant. It’s not available in the States, so you’ll need to order it or find a indy bookseller who stocks it.
