Back to the Old Ways

Well it looks like any good works we did in Afghanistan are quickly undone. The Taliban have scattered like the roaches they are (and that’s unfair to cockroaches), the warlords are still in power (instead of being of malingering in cages at Camp X-Ray where they belong), and the age-old tradition of treating women as threats to power is back in full swing.

Any questions about the real authority of Hamid Karzai? I think he’s as hollow as his headgear. Bush let the people of Afghanistan holding the same bag as his father gave dissenters in Iraq. Afghanistan needs a Marshall Plan. Karzai should have been pimp slapped by the US when he made the idiotic remark in his “inaugural speech” that Afghanistan was an “Islamic state” (akin to telling the patient that the horrible rounds of chemotherapy did nothing to stop the cancer).
