[ via Anita's LoL ] Over at Stating the Obvious, Michael Sippey asks why don’t the inhabitants of Steven Spielberg’s intrusive advertising saturatated 2059 install spam filters? My guess is that in that future, blocking ads is a terrorist offense.
I enjoyed Minority Report, by the way. Spielberg does a good Hitchcock. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Spielberg movie without some heavy-handed sons-and-fathers bits, which could had been toned down. Still, Phillip K. Dick is great source material, and it’s really hard to completely botch it. At least it didn’t have the misogyny of “Total Recall”, but that’s Verhoven’s problem.
