"Anywhere" @ 25 MPH

Last night at a party in Cupertino, I got to try out Mike Saari’s Electric BetterBike. It’s built on top of a stock recumbent from commodity components, accelerates quickly, and was easy to ride. You have to unlearn a couple of things such as wanting to steady it by holding the handle bars. A hybrid like this would cut my cycle commute to 20 minutes. However, since I have a reverse commute on Highway 85, the Honda is still the fastest option. And when I ride into work, it’s for the exercise, so a 30-40 minute ride isn’t wasted time.
