The Nation Institute launched a weblog, TomDispatch, and it opens with a doozy: Die Tageszeitung plans to publish the list of US and other Western firms who supplied Iraq’s weapons programs.
It’s been a common assumption that the Bush Administration wants to remove those names in the edited version of Iraq’s WMD disclosure intended for public consumption.
Now, given that the Iraqi government would love to sow dissent among those governments that aren’t enthusiastic about going to war to disarm Iraq, I’d take that list with a grain of salt. However, Bush, et. al. would serve the public’s interest if they genuinely followed up on that list.
