During the previous Gulf War, around Fort Hood and other large US military bases, pets that were abandoned-in-place when their owners had to jump on a transport to Saudi Arabia. And the shelters around those bases had to destroy most of them, a terrible thing.
So, read up on a project to foster the pets of active duty soliders — because after going on whatever fool’s errand Bush has in mind for them, those folks deserve to come back home to their cats and dogs.
