Sam Ruby started a wiki with the purpose of delivering a standard for a Weblog format. That standard is intended to go beyond the strands of RSS and provide a syntax for Weblog entries that can be used to generate syndication, archive, and editing schemes.
I like the idea because it takes the elegance of third generation Weblog tools like Bloxsom, Radio Userland, Linotype, as well as Norm Walsh’s and Tim Bray’s home brew systems: document oriented rather than being driven by conjuring an entry from a relational schema, and formalizes the notion that the entry is the atomic unit.
I’m willing to let the process guide how the backend for More Like This evolves.
