Damn, we’re back in 1999, where Matt Haughey was asking about the same problem. People had the gall, the gall, to write original content in their Weblogs, unlike old magpies like me who were using the {{link, snarky comment},...} structure.
Worth noting that Anil, Kierian, and others have gone to something like what I described in thier blogs, but without the glossary component.
With respect to the Pie/Echo project, the various flavors of RSS ought to fall out of the Pie syntax. I.e.: you should be able to apply a transform to a collection of Pie documents and get RSS in whichever [form|denomination|cult] you prefer.
I guess the question for Pie/Echo is how to represent links within an entry to support magpie-style RSS feeds, and people who want to want to point back at their entries.
