Mary Sue Under the Sorting Hat

[ via Cynthia Gonsalves ] “Mary Sue” stories are as old as fan fiction. Of course, they’re alright as long as you burn them after you write them, clean up after yourself, and don’t tell a soul. Here then, a cautionary tale of when Mary Sue came to Hogwarts.

If you’re not familiar with the term, a Mary Sue story is one where a fan writer inserts themselves into the mileu as a thinly disguised version of themself, becomes a primary character in the ‘cast’, goes to bed with the hero, and is probably a cat person (as in the kind with fuzzy ears.)
