Verizon’s fine, if all you want to do is talk on your phone.

For lack of anything better, I’m trying the LG VX6100 phone. It has a horrid little camera, no Bluetooth (but nothing on Verizon does,) a decent voice mode, and a speaker.

I can also send images to and from the phone. However Verizon charges $0.25 per instance to do this. That’s an outrageous rate for me as I wanted to use Flickr as an image dump. I’ve already spent $5.00 on pushing images back and forth from the phone. I’ll have to switch to Bitpim to move data back and forth if I keep the phone.

Cynthia emailed my phone a MIDI file she wanted me to use as her ringtone, I couldn’t save the file, even though the phone lists save sound as an option. A call to Verizon’s technical support confirmed this.

Verizon’s great if all you want is wireless voice service. They have a reliable network and good packages. But if you want to do more with your phone, you’ll want to look at other carriers.
