Last week Lorelei: The Witch of the Pacific Ocean opened in Japan. The movie, based on a popular novel, tells the story of a lone submarine dodging the American Navy to stop a third atom bomb ment for Tokyo in the closing hours of WWII.
Wow. It’s like the film makers were reading about a whole other war than the one my namesake uncle fought.
It’s certainly exciting to watch with all the torpedoes, depth charges, and grim-faced sailors.
