This weblog is a hobby, I must remind myself.
One thing I knew going to WordPress was that for reasons opaque to me, the package supports Atom 0.3, but not 1.0.
However, there’s a patch to provide support for 1.0 but it hasn’t been committed.
There’s also a template only patch.
Both of these escape the body of a post, which, in my mind make them useless. This is because I am a dochead at heart. So I hacked Ben De Groot’s Atom 1.0 template.
$DEITY, people, my homebrew system was producing valid, full post, Atom 1.0 feeds out of stone knives and bearskins.
What next? I can look at Movable Type, but my webhost isn’t that CGI friendly. I could join the cult of Rails and move to a host that supports Typo. Once the Atom Publishing Protocol’s stable, I could be motivated to write something on top of that.
Anyway, Atom 1.0 feeds are back.
