I was trying to contact Carol last week since I hadn’t heard from her in quite at while and I knew she was fighting cancer, but her phone was disconected and her email bounced, I feared the worse, but was not prepared to learn that she died in a fire. What a terrible loss to all her knew her and to the many felines she helped over the years, not to mention the monkeys at Jungle Friends Primate Sanctuary where she donated regularly since 2001. I know that there were many kind souls waiting to meet Carol at Rainbow Bridge, she will have a special place in heaven, thank you Carol for all you have done for so many of God’s creatures here on earth, we will miss you!

i just found out about carol. like sia, i learned a lot about cat rescue from Carol as well. she gave me my first bottle baby, even though i was nervous. she gave me the confidence to do it and from then on gave me as many bottle baby kittens as i could handle. she was a very smart, tough lady who loved cats and even though i haven’t seen her for several years, my thoughts have turned to her many times. her death is a loss and she will be missed.

Carol taught me almost everything I know about cat rescue and the work my partner and I have done as foster parents since then, as well as our annual Witches Ball (a fundraiser for the Humane Society) and the Gaia’s Guardian Award, along with the work we will continue to do in the future was/is inspired, in large part, by her example. I first met her in 1993, and we adopted 3 of our cats from her and I will never, ever forget Carol. She was a funny, tough lady and she will be greatly missed.
