<p>The map itself usualy looks like:</p>

<p>where the source data is XML from a file, a service of some sort, or another URL; the transforms correspond to XSL and XSLT transforms; and the serializer is a class or service responsible for writing the transformed source to a target format: HTML, WAP, PDF, etc.</p>
<p>XML Magazine featured <a href="http://www.xmlmag.com/upload/free/features/xml/2001/06jun01/am0103/am0103.asp" class="external">an article on how a college instructor is using a sitemap to manage the website for his XML course</a>. This example is in ASP, but it&#8217;s easy to see how this maps to another sitemap implementation such as Cocoon 2&#8242;s.</p>
